Mail Growth Incentive - Upcoming Important Dates

• February 28, 2026 - The final MGI 2025 postage credit claim period to request earned 2025 MGI credits will close
  •   It is imperative that mail owners review their service requests to ensure all requests to claim earned credits are submitted in a timely fashion.  Questions about your 2025 service request, if submitted before February 28^th, will be reviewed and addressed.  Supporting documentation is required to resolve any potential discrepancies.  Both the mail owner and the Postal Service will need to come to a consensus before postage credits can be distributed.
• March 1, 2026 - Registration for MGI 2026 will open. 
  • ​​​​​​​To simplify the MGI 2026 registration process, all MGI 2025 registrations will automatically have MGI 2026 registration service requests created.  An email will be sent to the Service Request Owner listed on the MGI 2025 Service Request to provide the new MGI 2026 Service Request number and next steps.  The mail owner will need to agree to the baseline and CRID(s), or start a discussion, before the program office can approve MGI 2026 registrations. 
  • Please note: baselines for MGI 2026 will be Calendar Year 2025 qualifying mail volume for the CRIDs being registered. 
    • Mail Owners who are new to MGI will still need to create new registration service requests and ensure all data is correct.  The entire registration process is available to review on PostalPro a.t Mail Incentives.
    • No new registrations will be accepted after May 31, 2026.  To ensure as many registrations as possible can be completed, the Postal Service will continue discussions with pending registrants until June 30, 2026, at which time all registrations must be agreed to by both the mail owner and the Postal Service, or they will be closed (Mail Owner not registered).

Plan now for both the conclusion of MGI 2025 postage credit claim period, on February 28, 2026, and the MGI 2026 registration period, beginning March 1, 2026.
