How to disable NCOA48, leaving NCOALink and ANKLink running

The following instructions will have you disable NCOA48 service, which is useful when NCOA48 is down, causing all NCOALink processing to stall.

  • Exit the AccuZIP6 software
  • Open File Explorer
  • Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\AccuZIP6 5.0\iNcoalink
  • In that folder, you'll see some folders, and you might see some loose files. Delete the loose files, if there are any. Do not touch the folders.
  • Close File Explorer
  • Click Start and search for Notepad. Right-click on Notepad, and choose Run As Administrator.
  • Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\AccuZIP6 5.0\iPresort\INI Defaults
  • Open the advancedsettings.ini file. If you don't have advancedsettings.ini, skip below to the section titled HOW TO CREATE AN ADVANCEDSETTINGS.INI FILE
  • Locate [NCOA48]. If you find it, then either change OFF=0 to OFF=1, or if that line doesn't exist, add OFF=1 to the [NCOA48] section
  • If you do not see [NCOA48] in the advancedsettings.ini file, then add these two lines to the bottom of that file:
    [NCOA48]
    OFF=1
  • Save the changes and close the advancedsettings.ini file.
  • Once we notify you that NCOA48 is back up and running, then launch Notepad as administrator again, open the advancedsettings.ini file, and change OFF=1 to OFF=0.

HOW TO CREATE AN ADVANCEDSETTINGS.INI FILE

  • In File Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\AccuZIP6 5.0\INI Defaults
  • Right-click and choose create New File
  • Change the file type to All Files and name the file advancedsettings.ini
  • Click Start and search for Notepad. Right-click on Notepad, and choose Run As Administrator.
  • Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\AccuZIP6 5.0\iPresort\INI Defaults
  • Open the advancedsettings.ini file.
  • Paste these two lines into the empty text document:
    [NCOA48]
    OFF=1
  • Save the file.

Now the NCOA48 service will be disabled.

When you want to enable the NCOA48 service again, change OFF=1 to OFF=0.
