Prevent Voter Fraud

Prevent Voter Fraud for Mail-In Voting

A recent Pew Research Center poll found that more than 70% of Americans think any voter who wants to vote by mail should be able to do so and all states allow at least a portion of their voting population to vote by mail. Many are considering expanding it due to COVID-19.

So what can you do to ensure that your jurisdiction’s ballots are accurate and valid? Ensure effective Vote at Home systems and policies are in place to ensure ballots only go out to active registered voters sent to their current address.

How do you do this? With AccuZIP's Data Quality tools, it's as easy as 1-2-3.

Deceased Suppresion

Deceased suppression

What happens if someone dies? Do they still get a ballot that someone can fill out for them? Ballots only go out to active registered voters. States and local jurisdictions with effective Vote at Home systems have automated processes that regularly match death records to the voter registration lists to prevent ballots going to a deceased voter. And signature verification provides a second level of security.

Move Update Processing

Move Update Processing

People move all the time. How can we be sure their ballots aren’t going to an old address where someone could intercept it?

First, ballots are non-forwardable and anyone tampering with it is committing a crime and will also be caught by a signature verification system. Second, Vote at Home recommends that states utilize the USPS National Change of Address (NCOALink®) database and that states become part of the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) which shares address change data nationwide. Vote at Home encourages states to implement policies like automatic voter registration that helps capture address changes from other government touchpoints like the DMV or other social service agencies.

Duplicate Detection

Avoid wasted money in printing, labor and postage by ensuring that only one ballot goes to each registered voter at an address. Remove duplicate names and addresses from your mailing list
