Okidata 590 dot matrix

Okidata 590 dot matrix printer with label template Okidat1x.lbx.

Does not print endorsement line.
Prints the name and address in a really small font.
Also prints off the left margin.
I'm running Windows XP.

OK - now I got the endorsement line to print
and the font is the correct size
- But no Barcode - just a '/' and 12 digits and another '/'
I'm using the 'Generic Text Only' printer driver
***
I can only print labels correctly - If I go back to my Windows 98 machine and use the Standard Text Only printer driver.

The Standard/Text only driver will not work with Windows XP, unfortunately. That's why you're able to generate a barcode using the Standard/Text printer driver on Windows 98 but not while on Windows XP.

You may need to switch to an OKIData driver so you can use the USPS Barcode font for printing the barcode.

When I use the Okidata driver it will print the barcode . . .

But - it prints really-really slowly - and in a tiny font size.

what's up with that ?

do I need to use a different label format ? - or driver ?

Try using the Epson LQ2550 printer driver as this driver works with most dot matrix printers and see if that speeds things up.
