Create the maildat.ccr file

Follow these instructions to create the maildat.ccr file in your presort folder.

Open the Databases .ini file, e.g., Demofile.ini and FIND the [MAILDAT] section.

If the [MAILDAT] section already exists, add these three lines to the [MAILDAT] section:
CCR=1
CHARACTERISTIC TYPE=C
CHARACTERISTIC=MI

If the [MAILDAT] section does not exist, add these four lines to the bottom of the .ini:
[MAILDAT]
CCR=1
CHARACTERISTIC TYPE=C
CHARACTERISTIC=MI

The description for the CHARACTERISTIC TYPE= and the CHARACTERISTIC= are described below:

NF     = Contents NOT required to be mailed FCM 
VV     = Volume w/% off 
DC     = DVD/CD or other disk     
VP     = Volume w/price off 
PS     = Product Sample 
RE     = Revenue 
RT     = Round Trip ONLY&#58; One DVD/CD or other disk (can be LT or FL) 
PI     = Piece Count 
MI     = Mobile Interactive Technology 
SB     = Small Bus w/% off 
NP     = PACT act 
IV     = Invoice 
GS     = Geographic Surcharge 
PP     = Picture Permit Indicia 
CB     = Certificate of Bulk Mailing 
ME     = Emerging Mobile Technology 
OS     = Operational Surcharge

If the current database's .ini file contains the [MAILDAT] section and these values, the maildat.ccr file will be created.

Mail Drives Mobile Commerce Promotion
Promotion runs November 1 through December 31, 2014
Registration begins: September 15, 2014

The Mail Drives Mobile Commerce promotion is aimed at businesses and mailers offering products for sale during the 2014 holiday shopping season. Mailers can earn an upfront two percent postage discount on qualifying mailpieces by integrating mobile technology with direct mail to create a convenient method for consumers to do their shopping.

Mailers may also qualify for an additional one percent rebate on the postage of their qualifying mailings if a portion of their orders are fulfilled via Priority Mail® between November 3, 2014 and January 15, 2015.
