Modify script text to choose saved mailing statement info

Post by Eric » Fri Nov 28, 2008 11:06 am

When you build a Script and add the Print Presort, Reports… event to the Script, the 13th Parameter is the Name of the Statement you would like to use when the statement is printed. This parameter can be:
1. The Name of the Setting, e.g., My Statement
a. If just the name is used, AccuZIP6 looks inside the folder \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\Presorts\Statements\ for a file with the same name and a .ini extension.
2. The Name of the Setting with Full Path
a. If this method is used, e.g., C:\Statements\My Statement.ini, AccuZIP6 uses the INI file at this location for the settings.

Here is how to start:
1. Open the AccuZIP6 5.0 program.
2. Open any database that you have previously presorted.
3. From the File menu, choose Print, Presort.
4. Click the Print Reports button.
5. Check Mailing Statement box and the box next to the Statement Name drop down.
6. Select a Saved Statement from the drop down and click Print.
7. At this point, a new folder was created: \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\Presort\Statement\
a. If you did a Periodical Presort, the new INI will contain Periodical Saved Statement settings, otherwise it will contain Statement information for all other statements.
8. Inside that folder is a new file with the same name as the Saved Statement you selected in Step 6 above.
9. You can now Quit AccuZIP6 and use this new INI file as your Template to create as many Saved Statement settings as you want.
10. All you need to do each time before you run a script is modify the Script file (*.scr) located inside the \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\ folder and the Event line named “Print Presort, Reports…”, specifically the 13th parameter:
Example: Print Presort, Reports...[1,1,0,0,0,0,"06/22/2008",0,0,1,1,0,SettingName,0,0,0]

AccuZIP6 5.0 now looks in the \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\Presorts\Statement\ folder for a file that matches the name of the Saved Setting in the “Print Presort, Reports…” event. If the saved name is a Pathname, then that INI file is used, example: Print Presort, Reports...[1,1,0,0,0,0,"06/22/2008",0,0,1,1,0,C:\SettingName.ini,0,0,0]

Here are some instructions on how to programably modify the INI file for Presorting and printing of the Mailing Statement and CASS Certificate.

1. Create an INI that you will use as a Template.
a. To do this, open any database, Validate the Records and open the Presort window.
b. Setup the presort window for any class and size you want.
c. Click Presort
d. When the presort is completed, print the Mailing Statement and CASS Certificate from the Print Presort window.
e. You now have a “Presort.ini” file inside the Presort Folder that you can use as a Template for running through the Script feature
f. Copy the “Presort.ini” file from the Presort Folder to the \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\Presorts\ folder.
i. If there is not a “Presorts” folder inside the Scripts folder, create it.
g. You can rename the “Presort.ini” file to whatever name you want, i.e., STD AUTO LTRS.INI. This will be the file you Modify, either directly, or by creating a copy of it programably and then modifying the copy.

Note: When the script runs, it uses the INI file inside the \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\Presorts\ folder that matches the name of the Saved Setting in the Presort Setup window. The Saved Setting name can be modified programably and is located in the actual Script file (.scr).

2. The STD AUTO LTRS.INI contains all of the Presort and Mailing Statement settings. You can open the file with any text Editor to see each [SECTION] and SETTING=

3. Below are a few setting examples that you can change:

a. ENTRY ZIP CODE
[PRESORT]
ENTRY ZIP=48180

b. Mail Piece Attributes – Do not change PIECE TYPE= Instead, create a new INI for FLATS for example, then any changes to the attributes will be for flat size pieces.
[PIECE INFO]
PIECE HEIGHT=3.5000
PIECE LENGTH=5.0000
THICKNESS=0.0500
WEIGHT=0.07500

c. TRAY TOTALS
[TRAY SIZE]
MIN1FT=175
MAX1FT=205
MIN2FT=357
MAX2FT=420
d. STATEMENT INFORMATION AND CASS CERTIFICATE INFORMATION
[STATEMENTINFO]
PREPAREDFOR=Joe Smith|AccuZIP Inc. |3216 El Camino Real|Atascadero CA 93422-2500
MAILINGAGENT=ABC Inc.|100 Main St|Anywhere USA
PERMITHOLDER=Joe Smith|AccuZIP Inc. |3216 El Camino Real|Atascadero CA 93422-2500

*Note: MAILINGAGENT= is printed in both section B. and D. on CASS Certificate
