Opening Label and Report Templates:
There are two ways to open an existing template, from the Print/Report Settings window or through the Edit menu. The two methods are explained in the steps below:
To open a template from the Print Settings or Report Settings window:
Select the template that you would like to open from the Template pop-up.
Click the Edit Template button .
To open a template from the Edit menu while in List View:
From
the Edit menu, choose Report or Label.
AccuZIP6 will automatically default to the appropriate folder/directory.
Select the desired report or label from the AccuZIP6 5.0\Reports or AccuZIP6 5.0\Labels folders and open it.
Once the template is open, refer to the appropriate topic in Editing Label and Report Templates for instructions on the editing that you plan to do.
Perhaps you have a Label or Report template that is already correctly positioned and resized, or you simply want to change the content of a template for a different job, but don't want to recreate the entire process? That's where the Copy and Rename buttons come in. Since you cannot rename a Label Template once you've entered the Label Designer, the Copy and Rename buttons allow you to either create a duplicate of a current template, or rename an existing template to a more preferred name prior to editing.
To copy a template and edit the copy, or to rename a template:
From the Print Settings window, click the Copy button , or the Rename button . You'll be presented with a small Copy Template, or Rename Template dialog, respectively, where you can type the new file name in the text box. After entering the new name, click the Save button, then refer to the steps under To open a template from the Print Settings or Report Settings window listed in this topic.
Once you have completed your editing of the template, you will want to save the changes. When you save a report or label template, all information about the report is saved in a table with a .FRX extension for reports and a .LBX extension for labels. There is an associated index of .FRT for reports and .LBT for labels. If the LBX/FRX files are the content that is stored within your label or report files, then the LBT/FRT index files are the table of contents. They tell the label template files how they should be organized and ordered. Both files are required for editing and saving labels or reports! These files are stored in the AccuZIP6 5.0 Reports or Labels folder, respectively, by default. The files must be stored in these folders to be accessible from the Print/Report Settings window Template pull-down menu.
